Museums for children
The museums of Jämsä region offer exciting and wonderful experiences for children. The region of Jämsä is home to two aviation museums: the Hallinportti Aviation Museum and the Veljesten Wanha Konttori. At these museums, you can learn more about aircraft, aviation history, and the development of Finland’s aircraft industry. Hallinportti Aviation Museum is a museum specialised in aviation technology and is part of the War Museum. The Veljesten Wanha Konttori, on the other hand, operates as a location for aircraft factory exhibitions. As well as the exhibitions, you can also take a look at the aerial photo archive. It is definitely worthwhile taking children to see the Helminauha Toy Museum or the visit the idyllic local museums. What kinds of toys were played with in the past? And how would it have been to live in a chimneyless hut and to sleep on a bench by the stove? Of the various local museums, we recommend the Moomin Museum in Tampere, the Amur Museum of Worker’s Housing, the Art Town in Mänttä and the Serlachius museums.
