The Himos-Jämsä region offers a wide variety of activities. On the winter, you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of Central Finland while, for example, skiing, snowmobiling or dog sledding. Even though the landscape itself is a good reason to choose Jämsä as a winter holiday destination, you’ll get even more out your holiday by taking advantage of the huge offering of activities. There’s plenty to do for those who want to enjoy a peaceful stay, and for those who want to get out and be active.
Himos has 21 slopes, with difficulty levels to suit just about every ability. The ski area has 15 lifts, two of which are elevated chairlifts. Himos can be easily reached by public transportation from the Jämsä city centre or with your own vehicle. Hit the slopes at Himos.
You’ll find the southernmost husky farm and dog-sled safari in the Himos-Jämsä region. Dog-sledding is one of the most popular activities in Jämsä.
The beautiful winter landscape at Himos will tempt you to go on a snowshoe tour which will also serve as an excellent work-out for the whole body.
In the Himos-Jämsä region, swimming is not limited to the summer months. Jämsä’s local swimming hall has a pool devoted to the wee members of the family and a larger pool for the parents. Quad Bike Ride
The guided quad bike safaris organised by Himos Safaris offer unforgettable experiences in the rugged Himos landscapes. If desired, you can also rent a quad bike and choose your own route.

Dual Sport- and Adventure Motorcycling
In Jämsä region we have hundreds of kilometers of nice small gravel roads, World Championship level rally stages and really nice scenery routes too for riding at summer and good winter conditions too. You can come with your own bike for our guided trips or we can help you to find suitable rental bikes also. Motorcycle driving licence is needed with road riding trips.
Snowscoot lessons and rentals

When it`s extremely cold weather
There’s plenty of splashing going down all year round in Jämsä’s local indoor swimming pools. In the Koskikara swimming pool, swimmers get to enjoy the therapy pool, children’s pool and exercise pool.
