In the Himos-Jämsä region, you can get to meet many kinds of animals. Cute domestic animals, charming huskies and friendly moose all offer a warm welcome to visiting tourists. Take some time out with some fascinating animals! In the Himos-Jämsä area you can find Finland’s only domesticated moose park, as well as Finland’s southernmost husky farm. At the moose park, you can get close enough to stroke the moose, or even to give them a kiss!  At the husky farm you can meet the adorable husky dogs, and in the domestic animal park you can meet horses, goats, chickens, and more. In addition, you can find farms in the Jämsä area which sell agricultural products and local food.

Moose zoo

Come along to meet and stroke a moose – or even give it a kiss, if you dare! The Moose zoo, located close to Himos, is a unique opportunity to meet tame moose and to get to taste delicious moose delicacies. Hirvikartano Manor, located in the Himos-Jämsä region, is Finland’s only domesticated moose farm. In addition to moose, the farm also offers the opportunity to meet beautiful fallow deer and cute reindeer.

Farm animal park

Meet farm animals, ride on a pony and take part in fun events – the farm animal park located in the Himos-Jämsä region offers all kinds of experiences with cute farm animals. In the farm animal park, you can meet relaxed horses, cute ponies and chickens, friendly goats and sheep and other sweet farm animals. The farm also offers horse riding, pony riding, animal courses and many other different kinds of activities. The peaceful farm animals are looking forward to your visit!

Dog -Sledding

You’ll find the southernmost husky farm and dog-sled safari in the Himos-Jämsä region. Dog-sledding is one of the most popular activities in Jämsä. You can play with the huskies at the farm, take a little spin around a field, sit back and let the dogs take you for a ride or learn how to drive the team yourself.You can also head out on a long, 2 to 3-hour dog sled safari out into the magnificent winter lake country.
